Can we say that summer is finally upon us now that the weather is a consistent 70+ degrees? My mood has increasingly gotten better with all the sunshine in my life – like I said in on my Instagram post: I am emotionally dependent on the weather ahah. It’s been a couple of weeks since my last blog post and I wanted to thank you all again for taking the time to read a piece that has been heavy on my heart for so long. The positive feedback has made me more open to sharing the less happy things of my life online. But today, we are directing the trajectory towards the happiness route and starting a new series on the blog: WEEKLY RECAPS!
Since taking a step back and not publishing as many blog posts, I have focused a lot on other areas of my life. But it doesn’t mean that I don’t want to continue talking with you all about random life’s moments. A weekly recap would be the best to quickly provide you guys a snapshot of what happens in my weeks. Here goes the first weekly recap:
Let’s start out by saying that this week I really tapped into my independent living skills. I know it may sound dramatic…but it’s true! I can’t remember the last time I was living alone for more than a day or two. Alex left NYC to go visit his family in CA for a week and a half and I was left in the dust…ahahahha. It was a week of fending for myself (I am not the chef in our relationship), learning to entertain myself and really honing in on things I needed to get done (like going to the gym).
I set up goals for the week such as returning to the gym at a consistent rate…so far I have been 5 times this week! And today, I am begin active by (attempting) to play some badminton with some of my favorite people. Working out has been a blend of majority cardio, ab workouts and learning the right techniques to weights. I’ve been so proud of my accomplishment thus far and hoping the trend continues in this upcoming week.
Oh! And I’ve been on a drinking challenge! Not the alcohol kind…I meant water! The week prior, I was struggling with crazy breakouts, spots and overall a bad skin period for me. I kept covering them up with makeup and entering into my period week also didn’t help. After reading so many things about drinking more water, I decided to give it a go. On a normal day to day basis, I definitely don’t drink enough water (my mom will be the first in line to tell everyone that). For this entire week, starting on Monday, I told myself I had to drink 5 bottles of water a day using my Swell Bottle. Boy, Monday was so hard to get that much water down and the bathroom might as well have been my second residence. It did get easier throughout the week and I naturally started to grab the bottle. I did find that I started snacking less which is the best result. And remember how I used to complain that I never sweater when I work out? Well, that has changed, all that water has made me sweat more when I workout!
This week was full of studying, working out and of course the typical workdays. I felt very productive and INDEPENDENT. But I am ready to have Alex back in my life. Even though we don’t talk all the time when we are together, just having someone to come home to and talk about life makes all the difference in the world. OH and I scored $5 slip on sandals at the Topshop closing sale, which was my big deal of the week. Anyways, I am on my way out to play said badminton and grab dinner with our good friends Olivia and Wentao. Fingers crossed I win!!
Hope you enjoyed reading this weekly recap and are looking forward to more of my weekly recaps! Hopefully I can make these weekly recaps a consistent place for us to connect every week!
