Fall is officially upon us as of September 23rd, which means it’s time for all the transitional fall outfits to come out of the closet! The weather here in NYC has been in the 80s these couple of days so I’m experiencing fall through the lenses of people online. Shooting this outfit was such a challenge in this heat…so many times I wanted to rip the sweater off. BUT all for the blog and to share some inspirational transitional fall outfits, right? Ahaha, jokes aside, I think the most classic transitional fall outfits revolve around a cute sweater and shorts.
When the weather gets chillier but not quite full blown cold to bring out the sweaters (#sweaterweather), we need the balance of shorts. I, for one, was so thankful for wearing shorts on this day because at least my legs felt the breeze ahahah. It was also the first time I tried this outfit combination and surprisingly I really loved it! I think it gives such a cute laid back look but still looked like I tried with my appearance.
The sweater from Mint Julep boutique or @shopthemint on Instagram has the perfect combination of colors. I instantaneously fell in love with this sweater the moment I saw it – not exaggerating! The colors triggered all the fall warning bells inside my head and *click* adds to cart. The slight oversized fit is so great for shorts, jeans or even a skirt! And I think it can be dressed up or down.
I paired my outfit with my slip-on sneakers because they’re so comfy and easy to put on. But the look can totally be elevated with some cute booties or sandals – depending on the look you want to portray. The entire look is so easy and you can re-create it with pieces already in your wardrobe! This combination can create so many different transitional fall outfits for this season!

What a great striped sweater love the over-sized stripes. I was in Paris for the 80s except Wednesday. So glad it cooled off I am over summer. You look great in this!

Fall is best to pick unique patterns and bold colors for a dramatic look and special occasions.
