Hi all! Feels like forever since the last time I sat down to talk about some of my beauty faves! Today, I wanted to share with you the makeup bag that I take on short trips and the contents inside! I’m currently on spring break. I decided to come home for the week to spend it with my family. It’s the perfect blend of relaxing, stuffing my face with homemade goodies and mustering up the energy to sit down and study/work.
The items in my travel makeup bag are constantly changing based on my current faves. I know when I travel elsewhere I can’t bring everything with me so I have to narrow all categories down to make sure I only bring necessities. You may have seen some of these items in previous blog posts, but some are new. The makeup bag is one I’ve had forever from Vera Bradley. The inside is very easy to clean up if there were to be a spilled because it’s lined with a plastic-like material. It’s been a lifesaver so many times as it keeps all messes contained.
These are the things that I bring with me no matter where I go. These include the basic necessities and tools that I use every day. The oldest item has to be my Lancome eyelash curlers. I got this one about 7-8 years ago and they have held up really well. The pads had to be changed a couple of times, but other than that, it’s been in top condition. I totally recommend this one if you’re looking to invest in a high-end curler.
Next, we have these tweezers! I’m quite picky about my tweezers and this pair is from a supermarket in Florence, Italy. When I was studying abroad, I forgot to bring a tweezer with me and got one to try at Esselunga (the supermarket there). I loved it so much I went back to grab five more to last me throughout the years. I’m the person who stocks up on anything that I love so I will never have to live without them again. And these tweezers last so well! The sharp tapered shape makes grabbing hair so easy and grabs close to the root, which is exactly what I want.
If you have read my previous blog post on my favorite mascaras, you would have seen the L’Oreal Lash Paradise in there and why I love it so much. It’s still a favorite and I love to travel with it because it gives me everything I could want in a mascara. This is actually my second tube of it and I am still not over it yet!
The Stila eyeliner is still also a fave. The design of the felt-tip makes it easy to apply and create any cat eye style. The pigment is also super rich so you don’t have to reapply to get that dark liner look. The tip does dry out a bit after using it, but it’s not a major deal after shaking it up.
I’ve been using this Anastasia Eyebrow gel for sooo long that the label has come off! I typically don’t put anything on my eyebrows because they are already dark and thick enough. But I do sometimes need help with putting them in place. I love this one from Anastasia as it makes sure your brow hairs don’t move the entire day, without making them feel like crisps!
Lastly, most of you know that I love my Chanel Mademoiselle perfume, but because I don’t have a travel size one and my large one is too large to carry around, I carry this sample around! I like to keep 1-2 of these perfume samples in my makeup bag where-ever I go to make sure I am smelling yummy! And this one smells soo delightful!

I’ve been getting into playing with my eyes and can’t really carry around my larger palettes. I got this Tarte palette as a birthday gift and it is the solution to all of my problems. Every color is beautiful and works together or on its own. For a beginner like me, it’s so easy to blend and to create any look.
My lipstick collection in the city is quite extensive so when it comes to traveling, I usually bring 1-3. Since this was a trip home where I know I’ll be spending most of my time on the couch, I only opted for two faves. First I have the infamous Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita, which is a favorite of everyone’s because it looks good on anyone! The formula is also so comfortable for a matte. The other lipstick is also one that I always rave about. Revlon lipsticks are inexpensive and the color is so pigmented. These two colors go with every look.
And for the times when I need a little pick-me-up to make my skin look flawless, I have the Marc Jacobs new Shameless foundation. Being able to test this foundation out has been so fun. I also don’t use a lot of foundations, but this one is amazing at making your skin look flawless. This foundation is a 24-hour long lasting foundation with SPF 25 that boasts of making your skin look flawless due to its innovative technology which encapsulates the SPF into the pigment itself. The Infinity Milling is a patented process to ensure you with a more natural and airbrush effect. With build-able medium natural coverage, it’s also perfect for every skin type. Inspired by Marc Jacobs’ own shameless attitude, this foundation will make sure you are shameless of who you are.
