As I’m sitting here beginning to write and think about who I’m most thankful for this year, the list just keeps growing. Such a cliche post for this time of the year but it’s the best time to thank those around you. From my family to my friends to you, so many thanks are due. This post is a letter of sorts to say a big THANK YOU to the crucial groups of people in my life this past year. ❤️
My Family
My biggest supporters, motivators and cheerleaders. From my most hardworking parents to my far-away sister in California to my over-protective brother, not one fails to call or text me every day to check up on me. Their trust and belief in every decision I make forces me to push myself harder. Those four people are truly my best friends who are always only one call away. I don’t know anyone else in the whole world who would drop whatever they’re doing to make sure each other are doing okay.
I’m so thankful for having parents who realize my dreams and aspire me to pursue them regardless of how much work they have to contribute. I always hear stories of other students who have to adhere to their parents’ wishes of studying a certain topic which makes me feel so lucky for being able to study whatever I love. Their complete trust in me towards anything I’m doing has led to me want to succeed and to one day give back. I am thankful for my sister and brother who are always lending an ear to console me even though I should be the one to guide them. From telling them my daily troubles to just advice on life, they each add their input to make me feel better. Who would have known that younger siblings are great advice givers too? I am always looking forward to the next break I have so I can go home and to feel complete. I truly wouldn’t be who I am without a single one of them and for that, I am eternally grateful.
My Boyfriend
Where do I start with Alex? This blog honestly wouldn’t have gotten this far without him and I am forever thankful for that. I have so many lil’ thoughts and ideas running through my head and he’s the one who is able to transform those ideas into reality. Every blog I’ve published, he has had some input, from taking pictures to giving his opinion. Even outside of helping me daily with whatever I’ve got going on in my life (especially school), he manages to deal with my psychotic-worrisome nature. Somehow he’s able to calm me down whenever I am having some form of mental breakdown. Outside of my family, no one else pushes me more than him and who believes in me no matter how much I fail to believe in myself. I am extremely lucky to have a home away from home to lean on all the time.
My Friends
While I’ve always known I have the best group of friends, this year has been the year that I’ve gotten much closer to each one of them. My group of friends from home who still reminds me that regardless of where I am in the world, I still have open arms to come home to. It’s so crazy to think of reconnecting with some people and it seems like old times—it’s the best feeling. Being able to grow older on our own and develop into our own person, but still being able to connect and talk about our experiences are the moments I look forward to. Thank you (you know who you are) for always being there for me….no matter the distance between us.
And then there are my freinds from college, who have taught me and opened my eyes to so many things. The different groups of people I get to interact with on the daily have become my family. So often, we bond over mutual questions about life after graduation, insecurities, and relationship issues—what would I do without them? If you pool them all into a room, you would get the best advice, comfort, positivity and motivation. I am thankful for every one of the friends in NYC for taking time out of their busy days to eat a meal with me, cook with me or just to hang out and talk for hours about everything and anything. Life in the city can get hard and lonely at times, but I always feel better knowing I have such wonderful friends who are right beside me.
My Readers
A thousand thanks wouldn’t be enough for you all who continuously come back here to read a piece of my thoughts. Starting out, I never realized how much my readers can contribute to my life. This community is one that never ceases to amaze me. The support I get from people who I’ve never even met is so mind-blowing. Thank you for coming back week after week to read these blogs. The opportunities that come with this has been all because of you. The views and comments on my blog posts, likes and comments on my Instagram pictures and personal emails all don’t go unnoticed—every one holds a special place in my heart. Thank you thank you thank you.

These are the people who I am most thankful towards this year and there are so many! I am one blessed girl. The people you have around you can define who you are and I am so happy that I am defined by so many great and awesome people. Take a moment and think of who have contributed to your life thus far. Today is the best time to tell them! We all got to where we are because of help and support from others. And if you’re with them, give them a hug! Happy Thanksgiving you all—make sure to eat lots and shop lots during Black Friday!
until my next lil’ thought then!
