Let’s make this weekend focused on YOU. Oftentimes we forget to take care of ourselves and let our minds breathe because we are so busy worrying about other parts of our life or other people. Carving time out and dedicating to self-care is so important to do from time to time. It will allow you to focus on you. It doesn’t take much to do so and here are 10 easy and simple ways to achieve this:
1. Grab Coffee Out
As someone who is surrounded by these amazing coffee places in the city, it’s hard to not be enticed by them. But I always remind myself that spending $5+ on coffee out is ridiculous when I can just make it at home. But I also know that my coffee somehow never ends up as delicious as when I buy it out. So on the weekends, I try to satisfy that part by indulging in a coffee out! Or tea if you prefer! But enjoy your own company or with friends and truly enjoy that cup of coffee. Plus this is a perfect chance for you to leave your home!
2. Get a Manicure / Pedicure
Self-care also means taking the time to look after our appearances and what could be more relaxing than getting our nails done? You just sit there and everything gets done for you! Indulge in yourself!
3. Workout / Yoga
Taking care of our physical bodies is probably one of the best ways to take better care of ourselves. Get yourself to a workout class of your choice and get those energy and endorphin levels flowing! You will better all around (even though probably not in the moment). Making sure to take the time to look after your bodies is so crucial and there is never the “perfect” time to start so do it this weekend!
4. Take a Walk
Take a walk to clear your mind of what happened this week and also to reset your mind for the next. The moral of this is to get outside instead of staying cooped up all day inside. It will help you tremendously. Fresh air has been linked to several correlations of a happier mood and more energy!
5. Go Shopping
Go and get that shirt/dress/shoes you’ve been eyeing! You worked hard so it’s okay to balance it out with some wants! But the key is definitely the word balance. Still know what is within your range, but take the time to reward yourself for a job well done – you don’t even need a specific reason. Sometimes, it could be just getting through the week. And even if you don’t have your eyes set on anything at the moment, window shop! It’s just as fun!
6. Journal
Start a journal on the weekends to have a place to put down all of your thoughts. It can be about the week, what you anticipate for the next week or just random things that pop into your head. It can be small, too. Think like a random piece of paper! Carve out time to just put pen to paper and write whatever you want. It will help clear out your brain and reset your intentions for the next week.
7. Bubble Bath it Up
Getting into a bubble bath has to be life’s top 10 best feelings! But as we all know it….bubble baths or even baths in general take time. And the weekend of self-care is all about taking the time to do things that will benefit you! So take the time this weekend to draw yourself a bath, add some bubbles, salts or bath bombs and get cozy. Maybe you can journal in there or binge watch your show!
8. Sleep a Lil’ Later
The week means having to set alarm clocks aka the worst part of the week! This weekend, let yourself forget about the snooze button by not setting an alarm and just sleep. Let your body and mind recoup from everything it has been through during the week. I call it making up for lost sleep during the week ahah. This way you can feel more refreshed and don’t have to complain about lack of sleep!
9. Call a Friend
I feel like I don’t have to go into the details of how important maintaining friendships is. But take the time to reach out to a friend on the weekends to see how they are doing and also update them on your life. Talk on the phone, invite them over, or go out to do something together. The human interaction will help you feeling happier and take your mind off other things that are bringing you down.
10. Eat Out
I have an avid advocate for cooking at home, but I also don’t force myself to not indulge once in a while. During the weekends, I like to reserve a day/meal where I am able to go try out a restaurant I’ve been drooling over or simply to enjoy a meal out. Somehow the restaurants do everything better! So take yourself out to a place that you’ve been wanting to go to – the weekend is the perfect time for that!

I hope you do some of these things this weekend to focus on YOU. I am sooo looking forward to this weekend as I am every weekend ahah. Happy Friday!
A million and one thanks for reading – until my next lil’ thought then!
