Card writing has always been one of my favorite things to do for those around me. A good hand-written card triumphs any text or DM that the electronic world we live in has conditioned us to do. Something about sitting down and putting thought on paper with some fun colored pens makes the moment so much more special. And choosing from Hallmark’s abundance of selections makes it even more fun to find the perfect card!
With the COVID world hindering human interactions, it is the perfect time to send someone in your life a card to remind them you’re thinking about them and miss them. Sending a card just because doesn’t have to be extravagant. For me, it can be as simple as letting the other person know you’re thinking of them. I write cards to family members even though I live with them now to brighten up their days. It’s so easy to settle in the routine of our day-to-day life with those we see every day; sometimes we forget to even say the simplest “good morning” or “thank you”. It is definitely nice to break that mundane cycle. Send a card to a friend you haven’t seen in a while, a coworker or anyone who you want to show some appreciation and support for, or simply some good LOVE.

I personally have been through a blender of emotions within the past few months. I have to say it’s the people around me that have gotten me through. I dealt with moving out of the city and back home, COVID separation from a lot of my close friends as most people are experiencing, adjusting to new schedules and responsibilities and much more. Despite having to re-adjust living with each other, this is the CLOSEST my family has been gotten and the MOST supportive we’ve towards each other. Perhaps the distance from not living together for the past six years settled in to hinder that, but it feels so nice to again realize the extent family goes for each other. I truly appreciate their presence and have written many cards to showcase my feelings. I have been loving giving Hallmark Cards with anything dog-related!
Of course, I have to mention Alex, who has shown unwavering love and support. Sometimes he’s my personal devil’s advocate to help me balance out the crazy and the sane, but I always appreciate his acts of encouragement, especially within the past year. Recently, I wrote him the cutest note within a card relating to cookies on the front and it was PERFECT. Alex’s favorite food of all time is cookies and the card really helped me tie it all together to thank him with a cute card.
These are only some of the ways I’ve been showcasing my appreciation with Hallmark cards. Hand-written cards have always been something I’m known for and I hope this prompts you to write a card for someone in your life just because.
A million and one thanks for reading — until my next lil’ thought then!

These are so adorable. I like the doggy one, taking time to paws, so cute. It’s normal and standard to contact people through social media and cell phones, but receiving a card in the mail or just handing someone a personal card is very thoughtful and sincere 🙂
