Let’s talk about passions today because I’ve been so inspired lately after hearing other people’s passions. I have always loved listening to people talk about their life’s passions, something that they do and go after not because they have to, but because they want to. i’ve been blogging for almost two years now and I’ve always been interested to hear about why other people started. The work that goes on behind blogging and to continue doing it for an extended period of time just because you love it, is what I see as passion. And to prompt you to dig deeper into your own passions, I wanted to share three of my top passions with you today.
Passion 1 : Blogging
A no brainer at this point, but I love what I do on here and connecting with everyone. This lil’ place on the internet has led me to share my thoughts, good or bad, as well as being able to meet like-minded people. These girls (sorry guys, I’ve only been able to meet girls thus far!) have been soo empowering in wha they do. And it drives my own passion to continue. Beyond the gifted items and collaborations, there exists the deep love for simply creating. Being able to just open up and let myself free with the creativity that was once trapped. Blogging has led me to tap into so many other passions such as writing!
Passion 2: Questions / Learning
A crazy and random one, right? But I love questions…a natural questioner by nature. Whether I am naturally just curious minded or nosy as some people would say, for some reason I LOVE asking questions. Honestly, I don’t even know if I am even able to classify this as a passion, but it’s a large part of my life! I get bored easily with a lot of things, which means I am constantly trying to find something new to do or learn. Recently, Alex and I had a conversation on intelligence and if we think it can be built upon. We both agreed on yes and maybe that’s why we are both always searching to learn more.
If I meet you for the first time, most likely I will be bombarding you with questions about your life – every facet of it. I am genuinely interested in people and the different lives that we all lead. So combining the two, I am extremely passionate about learning and continuing to build upon my intelligence.
Passion 3: My Culture
My culture plays a HUGE part of who I am. I know I haven’t talked much about it, but this year I definitely want to dig further into that later. Growing up, I wanted to run away and turn my back on my culture. And it was only until the past 2-3 years that I really started to learn more of my background, where my parents came from and the Chinese culture itself. You may have read my series on everything related to Chinese New Year (earlier this month), which was driven by my passion of my culture. I love talking about the Chinese culture and my personal story!

Tap into what you are passionate about today. Whether it is something you always love to talk about or just something you are interested in. There is always time to hone in on those things. Remembering what you can go back to can be motivating in other parts of your life!
A million and one thanks for reading – until my next lil’ thought then!

I’d say that blogging is my #1 passion as well! I’m terrible at keeping myself accountable for my own pursuits, like learning a language on my own for example, but I’m great at getting stuff done if someone else is holding me accountable, like professors or just school in general. Which is why I’m especially proud of myself for blogging on my own, going on for six years! I think that really goes to show just how passionate I am about blogging. // I wish that I was more comfortable with asking questions. Curiosity is a wonderful thing and it’s the most natural way to motivate yourself to learn. Growing up, I learned by doing, not asking. In the last few years, I’ve made a conscious effort to ask questions when I need to and ask better questions. It’s something I’m still working on! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
